Mike's Morning Take

Here's what you're watching today. Futures are up clean — ES +0.41%, NQ +0.59%, RTY +0.46% — and that lift is coming off a busy earnings morning. The tone is broadly constructive, but don't mistake a green open for permission to chase. Boeing missed badly — EPS of –$0.34 versus an estimated –$0.21, a 59% negative surprise — and it's sitting in the Dow. VZ also missed on revenue. Meanwhile, Centene (CNC) just printed a 491% EPS beat, UPS came in solid, and HCA held up well. The market is digesting a genuinely mixed bag before FOMC day tomorrow, when the Fed is widely expected to hold rates at 4%. Natural gas is screaming — up 17% overnight — and oil is easing. That divergence matters for Energy positioning.

The macro backdrop keeps your attention on two clocks running at once: earnings season and FOMC tomorrow (October 28). Prediction markets put the probability of a hold at 92%. That's the base case. What matters isn't the decision — it's the press conference tone. Any hawkish surprise on inflation language will unwind this morning's bid fast. Keep position sizes modest into tonight's close, with Visa (V), Waste Management (WM), and NXPI reporting after the bell today as additional land mines. The 10-year yield at 4.97% is close enough to 5% that it remains a ceiling-pressure on growth stocks. VIX at 17.68 and dropping — the market isn't pricing much fear, which itself is a reason to stay disciplined.

The one setup to watch: the QQQ options market is heavy with put flow at the 680–712 range through November expiries. That's institutional hedging, not panic — but it tells you smart money is not fully offsides to the downside. Your job today is to let the setup come to you. If we gap up and hold, fine — work the plan. If the open fades, that fade is information. Don't be the last one in at the high. Manage your risk before you manage your reward. Let the probabilities work for you.

Bottom Line — Morning Playbook

Bias: Cautiously Bullish — futures green, earnings broadly ok, but FOMC tomorrow and BA's miss limit conviction.

Best sectors today: Technology (XLK +1.69% yesterday), Industrials (XLI +1.42%), Energy (XLE, nat gas tailwind). Defense-adjacent names catching a bid on geopolitical headlines.

Weakest sectors: Communication Services (XLC –1.57% yesterday) leads the laggard list. Consumer Staples and Utilities also underperforming on a risk-on day.

Opportunity: CNC, UPS, HCA, FCX, and PYPL all reported beats this morning — watch for continuation in the first 30 minutes if they hold their pre-market levels. Natural gas names (RRC up 18% pre-market) are the momentum trade of the day.

Risk: BA's miss drags on Industrials and the Dow. FOMC press conference tone tomorrow is the week's biggest tail risk. QQQ put flow signals institutional hedging into the back half of the week. Watch 10Y yield: a push back toward 5% stalls the rally.

Three key levels to watch:
SPX Support7,546 SPX Resistance7,813 QQQ Support700 QQQ Resistance725 IWM Support263 IWM Resistance285
Three takeaways for today
  1. Earnings beats are in the price pre-market — wait for a pullback to the first support before adding, not at the open spike.
  2. Boeing's miss is a Dow drag; keep Industrials exposure selective — JCI, UPS, and IQV all beat, so the sector is bifurcated, not broken.
  3. Size down into tonight's close. FOMC tomorrow at 6:00 PM ET is the biggest single event of the week. Be the house, not the gambler — let the event pass before committing fresh capital.

Trade smart. Manage risk. Let the probabilities work for you.

Executive Summary (30-Second Read)

Primary catalyst: Boeing (BA) missed Q3 EPS by 59% (actual –$0.34 vs. estimate –$0.21; revenue $24.19B vs. $24.56B est.) — the biggest large-cap miss in this morning's prints, dragging Industrials. This is a negative catalyst for the Dow component. Offsetting: Centene (CNC) beat by 491%, UPS, HCA, FCX, PYPL, and HLT all came in ahead of estimates. The net earnings tone is mixed-to-positive.

Biggest opportunity: Natural gas spiking 17% overnight gives energy producers a momentum tailwind — see pre-market mover RRC +18%. Copper miner FCX beat EPS by 9.7% with copper at $6.61/lb near 52-week highs.

Biggest risk: FOMC statement and press conference tomorrow (October 28, 6:00 PM ET). The 10-year Treasury yield at 4.97% and Kalshi prediction markets at 92% for a hold mean the rate decision itself is priced — but any hawkish tone on inflation (Core PCE YoY estimate 3.1%) can reopen yield pressure. Additionally, multiple large-cap reports after today's close (V, WM, NXPI, STX) carry binary event risk.

Overnight narrative in brief: Futures are lifted by the net-positive tone of this morning's earnings prints (CNC, UPS, HCA, FCX beats) despite BA's miss. Oil pulling back from recent highs — WTI –1.0% to $100.73 — is easing inflation fears ahead of the FOMC meeting, which gives risk assets room to breathe. Japan's Nikkei gained 1.7% as USD/JPY rose to 157.79 (yen weakness benefits Japanese exporters). China's softness reflects ongoing domestic economic divergence. Gulf markets rose on Saudi-led peace push. UK retail sector flagged price pressure risks.

World & Geopolitical Backdrop
  • Middle East — Saudi-led peace push / Houthi attacks: Saudi-led coalition intercepted Houthi missiles and drones targeting the kingdom, but Gulf bourses rose as coalition countries simultaneously pushed for peace. Why it matters: keeps oil supply risk in the picture — any escalation re-pressures WTI toward its 52-week high of $108.66.
  • Israel Election: Record-pace voter turnout as Israelis vote in a wartime election. Why it matters: outcome affects Middle East diplomacy trajectory; a harder-line result could re-escalate regional conflict and lift safe-haven flows into gold and Treasuries.
  • China — Middle East envoy, industrial profits: China plans to send an envoy to the Middle East amid conflict spillover. China's industrial profit growth picked up but amid deepening economic divergence. Why it matters: China's mixed macro backdrop limits commodity demand optimism despite copper's strength.
  • UK — Iran/RAF Fairford charges: Two men charged in the UK for helping Iran in connection with the RAF Fairford incident. Why it matters: incremental UK-Iran tension; limited direct US market impact, but watch for GBP volatility.
  • Norway/Finland — Putin call: Norwegian PM and Finnish president held a phone call with Putin. Why it matters: diplomatic contact with Moscow is a marginal positive for European market stability.
  • UK retail prices: UK retail body warns the "dam is starting to break" on price increases after a period of disinflation. Why it matters: underscores that global inflation isn't fully tamed — supports the Fed's reluctance to signal cuts prematurely.

Federal Reserve Watch

Current stance: The Fed holds its benchmark rate at 4.00%. The FOMC meeting is tomorrow, October 28, with the rate decision at 6:00 PM ET and the press conference at 6:30 PM ET. The market consensus — and the data — point firmly to a hold. Core PCE YoY is running at an estimated 3.1% for September (well above the 2% target), which gives the Fed no room to cut. At the same time, GDP growth was tracking well (Q3 advance estimate due October 29), removing the urgency to ease.

What to watch in the statement: Any change in language around "sufficiently restrictive" or a shift in the balance of risks toward inflation-persistence would be hawkish and hit risk assets. Any acknowledgment of labor market cooling (initial claims recently near 194K) could be mildly dovish at the margin. The base case is a boilerplate hold with no signal of cuts before Q1 2027.

Kalshi Prediction Market — October 28, 2026 FOMC Meeting
Fed Maintains Rate (Hold)
92%
Strong consensus for no change
Hike 25bps
6%
Small but non-trivial tail risk given inflation
Cut 25bps
0%
No cut probability priced
Other outcomes
~0%
Hike >25bps or Cut >25bps negligible

Bottom line: Kalshi markets overwhelmingly price a hold at 92%. The 6% hike tail is the meaningful risk asset reads should respect — if inflation language in the statement tilts hawkish, that 6% tail can move fast. Source: Kalshi (KXFEDDECISION-26OCT), fetched 2026-10-27 08:40 ET.

Sector Rotation & Scorecard

Sectors ranked by yesterday's 1-day performance. The 1-month column shows the longer trend — these two together tell you whether yesterday's move is a continuation or a reversal. Advancers: 7 of 11 sectors green yesterday.

Rotation read: Technology (+1.69%) and Industrials (+1.42%) led yesterday's session — both recovering from the prior month's weakness. Communication Services (–1.57%) is the clear laggard, with VZ's revenue miss this morning doing nothing to help. Energy (+0.45% yesterday, +12.14% on the month) is the strongest sustained performer on the month — and natural gas spiking 17% overnight means today could accelerate that lead. Utilities and Consumer Staples are the defensive laggards on a risk-on day, which is normal rotation behavior. Health Care (flat yesterday) should benefit from HCA's and CNC's beats today.

IV percentile (IV rank — where current implied volatility sits relative to its own 1-year range; 100 = richest it's been) above ~80 = premium is rich (sell-vol candidates). Below ~30 = premium is cheap (buy-vol candidates).

ELEVATED IV — Rich Premium (Sell-Vol Candidates)

b) Unusual Volume & OI — Prior Session Notable Contracts

Volume > open interest (OI — open interest, the total number of live contracts) means fresh positioning, not just rolling existing bets. These are the most-active contracts from October 26.

c) Busiest Strikes per Major Name

SPY — S&P 500 ETF

By volume: $766C (843K vol), $765P (831K vol), $765C (584K vol) — all Oct 26 expiry. By OI: $745P Oct 30 (157,799 OI), $755P Oct 30 (150,938 OI), $750P Oct 26 (91,576 OI). The large OI concentration at $745–$755 puts expiring Oct 30 represents meaningful downside hedging heading into FOMC week.

QQQ — Nasdaq 100 ETF

By volume: $714C (464K vol), $713P (450K vol), $712P (413K vol) — all Oct 26 expiry. By OI: $670P Mar 2027 (204,368 OI), $690P Oct 30 (90,898 OI), $680P Nov 20 (76,958 OI). The massive $670P OI in March 2027 represents long-dated institutional downside protection — a significant hedge against a deeper tech correction.

TSLA — Tesla

By volume: $395C (262K), $400C (220K), $392.5P (217K) — Oct 26 expiry. By OI: $400C Jan 2027 (40,235 OI), $250P Nov 20 (35,424 OI). TSLA call OI in Jan 2027 at $400 strike is a structural bullish position; the Nov 20 $250P is a deep downside hedge.

NVDA — Nvidia

By volume: $217.5C (309K), $215P (193K), $215C (181K) — Oct 26 expiry. By OI: $100P Jan 2027 (414,072 OI) — massive downside protection position. $200C Jan 2027 (292,474 OI). The $100P OI is the largest single strike in the entire scan — structural downside hedge from large institutional holders.

MU — Micron Technology

By volume: $915C (64,756), $920C (63,593), $910C (57,456) — Oct 26 expiry. By OI: $500P Oct 30 (14,267 OI), $900C Jan 2027 (12,181 OI). MU dark pool prints were significant overnight (see section d). The $900C Jan 2027 OI is a structural bullish bet on memory recovery into year-end.

d) Whale Flow — Major Sweeps, Net Premium, Dark Pool Prints

Flow data covers the prior trading session (October 26, 2026). Net premium direction (net call premium — the difference between money flowing into calls vs. puts; positive = bullish money, negative = bearish money) gives the session's aggregate directional bias per ticker.

e) GEX / Dealer Positioning — Key Index ETFs

GEX (gamma exposure — measures how much dealers who have sold options must buy/sell the underlying as prices move, creating potential amplification of moves) data covers a window of strikes near the current spot price, not the full chain. Only strikes within the reported window are named. A gamma-flip level (the price where dealer hedging switches from stabilizing to amplifying moves) cannot be derived from a partial window. Data as of prior session close.

ETFSpot UsedStrike WindowPut/Call OI RatioLargest Net Gamma Strike (within window)Positioning Read
SPY $765.37 $691–$839 (9.7% below, 9.6% above) Put OI 12.1M vs. Call OI 5.6M — put heavy Within the strikes covered, largest net gamma concentration is near the $765 strike — both calls and puts at extreme levels at expiry. $750 strike (by OI) is the largest structural put position. Dealers are net short gamma near $765 based on the heavy OI cluster — price moves here could be amplified. The $745–$755 Oct 30 put OI wall creates potential gravitational pull if market weakens.
QQQ $712.20 $639–$786 (10.3% below, 10.4% above) Put OI 7.5M vs. Call OI 5.4M — put heavy Within the strikes covered, the $712–$713 zone shows the largest net call gamma concentration; the $690 put strike carries the largest negative put gamma within window. QQQ has significant downside put OI building from $690 down to $650 — institutional hedges. Near-term, the $712–$715 zone is a likely near-term battleground. Call flow yesterday (QQQ $715C Oct 28 sweep) is fighting the put wall.
IWM $276.99 $170–$380 (38.6% below, 37.2% above) Put OI 7.5M vs. Call OI 3.1M — significantly put heavy Within the strikes covered, $277 strike shows heavy two-sided gamma at expiry; $270 puts carry substantial negative gamma. $260 is a large institutional put strike. IWM is heavily put-loaded — the downside protection is concentrated between $250 and $270. Yesterday's repeated IWM $263–$264 put sweeps ($364K–$585K) reinforce the institutional short-small-cap view.
DIA $522.97 $434–$610 (17.0% below, 16.6% above) Put OI 341K vs. Call OI 234K — put heavy Within the strikes covered, $525 strike carries the largest net gamma from both sides; $520 has significant put positioning. Dow ETF positioning suggests modest downside hedging. Boeing's miss this morning adds direct pressure. The $515–$520 put zone is where protection is concentrated.
Market Breadth

Breadth measures how many stocks are participating in the market's move — a broad rally with most stocks rising is healthier than a narrow one driven by a few big names. The data below uses 11 SPDR sector ETFs as a proxy for broader market health (full S&P 500 breadth requires a separate data tier).

Sectors Above 50-DMA
8 / 11
Broad participation — 72% of sectors trading above their 50-day average
Sectors Above 200-DMA
7 / 11
Majority above long-term trend — underlying uptrend intact at sector level
Sector Advancers
7
7 of 11 sectors were up yesterday — solid breadth for a mixed news day
Sector Decliners
3
Communication Services, Consumer Staples, Utilities declined

Breadth read: Yesterday's advance had genuine participation — 7 of 11 sectors green, 8 of 11 above their 50-day moving average. That's not a narrow, Mag-7-only rally. The three laggards (Comm Services, Staples, Utilities) are normal in a risk-on rotation. The key to watch today: if breadth narrows to just Tech and Energy while Industrials fade on Boeing's news, that signals an increasingly cautious market under the surface. Stocks to Watch Today

Names derived from the data packet — earnings results, pre-market movers, options flow, and dark pool activity. Not trading recommendations; setups to monitor.

CNC
Centene Corp
EARNINGS BEAT
490% EPS beat this morning. Health care managed care is executing. Watch for gap-and-go continuation if it opens above prior close. The risk is that a 490% beat on an EPS estimate of $0.098 means the estimate was likely stale — the move may already be priced in pre-market.
  • Revenue beat by ~$3B
  • Healthcare sector breadth improving (HCA also beat)
  • Risk: pre-market gap exhaustion
BA
Boeing
EARNINGS MISS
BA missed EPS by 59% this morning. The Dow component is a direct headwind for the index. Don't chase a short after a gap down — wait for a bounce to resistance before positioning. The long-term manufacturing story remains broken until production rates stabilize.
  • EPS –$0.34 vs. –$0.21 est; revenue $24.19B vs. $24.56B est
  • IV percentile at 93.2 — option premium rich post-event
  • Risk to short: any production milestone news could squeeze
RRC
Range Resources
NAT GAS PLAY
Natural gas +16.7% overnight. RRC is up 18% pre-market as a direct E&P beneficiary. Don't chase the open — let it settle in the first 30 minutes before evaluating a continuation or fade. This is a momentum trade, not a fundamental one.
  • Pure-play nat gas producer — direct price correlation
  • Price: $53.57 pre-market (+$8.05)
  • Risk: nat gas spike often mean-reverts quickly
FCX
Freeport-McMoRan
EARNINGS BEAT
Beat EPS by 9.7%. Copper at $6.61 — near 52-week high. The combination of a solid earnings result and a commodity tailwind is constructive. FCX is the cleanest copper proxy in the US market.
  • EPS $0.88 vs. $0.80 est; revenue $7.55B vs. $7.50B est
  • Copper near 52-week high of $6.80
  • China industrial profits picking up supports demand narrative
PYPL
PayPal
EARNINGS BEAT
EPS beat by 8.5% but revenue slightly missed. Watch the pre-market reaction — a stock that beats on EPS but misses revenue can trade either way. The key is forward guidance tone. PayPal has been a turnaround story; EPS beats keep that narrative alive.
  • EPS $1.45 vs. $1.34 est
  • Revenue $8.58B vs. $8.89B est (slight miss)
  • Watch for gap direction — could fade if guidance disappoints
NVDA
Nvidia
OPTIONS FLOW
Significant options activity yesterday — NVDA $215C and $217.5C call buying alongside put buying created a bracket. Dark pool print at $216.50 after hours. IV at 93rd percentile coming into earnings on November 18 — premium is rich, consider spreads rather than naked long calls.
  • Stock near $216 pre-market; IV at 93rd percentile — expensive options
  • Dark pool at $216.50 is a supportive signal
  • Options activity shows both call buyers AND put buyers — two-sided
INTC
Intel
DARK POOL
Two large dark pool prints after hours ($308K and $347K) at $91.44. Intel's IV at 89th percentile — someone is building a position ahead of a potential catalyst. IV rank at 89 means options are expensive here. Not a trade yet; a name to watch for a directional catalyst.
  • Dark pool: 3,368 + 3,800 shares at $91.44 after hours
  • IV percentile 89.0 — rich premium
  • No known catalyst identified in data packet
MU
Micron Technology
DIVERGENCE
Interesting divergence: net options flow was bearish (–$30M net call premium) but dark pool prints show multiple buys totaling over $1M in shares. When options flow and dark pool flow diverge, the institution buying stock may know something the option hedger doesn't — or vice versa. IV at 19th percentile means options are cheap here.
  • IV percentile 19.4 — cheap options for directional bets
  • Dark pool: multiple prints at $913 — institutional accumulation
  • Options flow net bearish — hedging or short interest
V
Visa
AFTER CLOSE TODAY
Visa reports tonight after the close. EPS estimate $3.50. Visa is one of the cleanest reads on consumer spending health. A beat on payment volume growth would be broadly constructive. A miss on cross-border volume would signal consumer caution. Don't carry an exposed position into the print.
  • Q4 FY2026 — payment network revenue
  • Key metric: total payment volume and cross-border volume growth
  • Risk: any guide-down on spending trends hits Consumer Discretionary broadly
META
Meta Platforms
OPTIONS FLOW
Net options flow was significantly bearish yesterday — $17M net negative call premium combined with $12M net put premium buying. Multiple institutional put positions in Jan 2027 ($700C and $750C large OI, but puts were the flow signal). Dark pool print at $633 shows some buying, but the options market is saying risk to the downside here.
  • Net options flow: bearish (–$16.9M call premium, +$11.9M put premium bought)
  • Dark pool: 300 shares at $633.33 — modest contra signal
  • Comm Services was the worst sector yesterday (–1.57%)
IWM
iShares Russell 2000 ETF
WHALE FLOW
The most concentrated institutional put flow of the day was in IWM — $585K block in $264P Nov 20, $364K in $263P Nov 20, plus large dark pool prints of 88K–118K shares. Small caps are being actively hedged by institutions. IWM IV at 21.8th percentile means those puts were cheap when bought — now they're positioning for a down move.
  • Repeated put sweeps at $263–$264 strike for Nov 20
  • IV rank 21.8 — options remain cheap for put buying
  • IWM RSI 42.5, trend down — technicals aligned with put flow

PRE-MKT MOVER
Top pre-market gainer at +47.6%. Watch for the gap-fade dynamic in the first 30 minutes — large gap-up moves in small/mid-caps often give back 30–50% of the initial gap. Don't buy the open; look for a pullback to a defined support level if you're interested in the story.

Pattern alert: Multiple Brazilian financial and fintech names (XP, BRBI, AFYA, STNE, PAGS) are down 25–48% simultaneously. This looks like a sector-wide or country-specific event in LatAm financial markets. If you hold any Brazil-exposed names, check your positions. Do not attempt to bottom-fish these without understanding the specific catalyst driving the move.

Insider Activity — Notable Open-Market Transactions

Open-market buys (transaction code P-Purchase) are the most meaningful insider signal — executives using their own cash to buy shares at market prices. Sells can be planned (10b5-1 plans) or routine and carry less signal weight. Award vesting (M/A codes) and tax-withholding sales (F code) are non-informative routine transactions excluded from the lead summary.

–3.86% · Declining; well below the 22.22 52-week high. Low fear = markets not pricing a shock. FOMC tomorrow could change this.
Put/Call Ratio (SPY)
Put-heavy
SPY put OI 12.1M vs. call OI 5.6M; prior session net put premium bought; institutional hedging elevated
QQQ Options
Net bearish
Prior session net put premium –$25.7M dominated; institutional put buying ongoing

Sentiment synthesis: The Fear & Greed Index at 29 (Fear) combined with VIX at 17.68 (not elevated) creates an interesting tension — retail sentiment is fearful but options market is not pricing extraordinary near-term vol. That's often a setup where the market has already been through its shakeout and is healing. However, institutional put flows (QQQ, IWM, SPY) tell us that professionals are not convinced the healing is done. Respect both signals: lean toward the buy side on dips, but stay hedged into FOMC.

Trading Plan for Today

Bull Case

Futures hold green into the open. Earnings beats from CNC, UPS, HCA, FCX and PYPL provide sector-specific tailwinds. Natural gas +17% drives Energy outperformance. VIX declining signals risk appetite. Oil easing ahead of FOMC removes an inflation barrier. The open sees broad participation (7 of 11 sectors green yesterday) and rotates into the beaten-down Tech sector (Nasdaq RSI at 29 — oversold bounce setup).

Bull case invalidated if: VIX spikes above 20, or the 10-year yield pushes back through 5%, or any of tonight's key earnings (V, WM, NXPI) deliver a major downside surprise.

Bear Case

Boeing's miss hits the Dow and dampens the broad Industrials sector. Latin American financial contagion (XP, STNE, PAGS all –25 to –48%) is an unknown risk factor. Institutional put flows in QQQ and IWM reflect genuine downside conviction, not just routine hedging. The FOMC tomorrow creates a binary event — if the market runs into the meeting, it has more room to fall on any hawkish surprise. Consumer confidence print at 2:00 PM today could disappoint below 80.

Bear case invalidated if: Boeing gives a constructive production update on its earnings call, and the 2:00 PM consumer confidence print comes in above consensus.

Defined-Risk Ideas for Today

These are setups — not recommendations. Size appropriately. Define your risk before entering. Use defined-risk structures (spreads) ahead of tonight's earnings and tomorrow's FOMC.

  • Energy momentum: If RRC pulls back 5–8% from the open gap, watch for a re-entry near the prior day's close with a stop below the morning low. The natural gas thesis is real but the gap is large — let it come to you.
  • QQQ oversold bounce: Nasdaq RSI at 28.9 is historically oversold. A defined-risk call spread on QQQ (buy a call, sell a higher-strike call — limiting both cost and upside) targeting the $720–$725 range for Nov 13 expiry is a way to participate in a reversion without unlimited risk. Don't hold through FOMC tomorrow without a hedge.
  • IWM put spread: IWM is in a downtrend, below its 50-DMA, with institutional put flow heavy at $263–$264. A put spread (buy $275P / sell $263P, Nov 20 expiry) is a defined-risk bearish position where the work has already been done for you by the whales. Risk is the premium paid; max gain is the spread width.
  • BA covered call / avoidance: If you own BA, this is not a morning to add. The miss plus ongoing manufacturing challenges = dead money until a production milestone. If you want to stay long, sell a covered call (sell an upside call against existing shares — generating income while you wait) to reduce cost basis.
  • Pre-FOMC hedge: Owning some SPY $750P (Oct 30 — 157,799 OI already there) is cheap insurance into FOMC tomorrow. If the market rallies today, the puts get cheaper. Don't let a good open make you complacent about tomorrow's event risk.

Invalidation: If SPX loses 7,546 on a closing basis, the bull thesis is off the table and the bear case targets 7,400 zone. If QQQ loses 700 intraday on volume, the downside put OI at $690 Oct 30 (90,898 OI) becomes the gravitational target. Both of these are "change your bias" levels, not just "be careful" levels. Respect the tape.

How to Read This Report
Pre-market edition
Published before the 9:30 AM ET open. Prices, futures, and earnings are the most recent available as of 08:40 ET. Live prices will differ — verify before acting.
IV rank / IV percentile
Implied volatility (IV — the market's expectation of future price swings, embedded in option prices) expressed as a percentile of its 1-year range. Above 80 = expensive premium (consider selling). Below 30 = cheap premium (consider buying). Ranked across a scanned set of 40 liquid names — not the full market.
Vol/OI ratio
Volume (contracts traded today) divided by open interest (total live contracts). A ratio above 1.0 means more contracts traded than existed at start of day — fresh positioning, not just rolling. Very high ratios (10×, 100×) signal aggressive new directional bets.
GEX (Gamma Exposure)
Gamma exposure — how much dealers who sold options must buy or sell the underlying as prices move. GEX data covers a window of strikes around current spot price, not the full chain. Gamma walls and floors are only named if they fall inside the reported strike range. A gamma-flip level cannot be derived from a partial window.
Dark pool
Private off-exchange venues where institutions trade large blocks without impacting the public market. Dark pool prints signal institutional positioning — direction is inferred from context, not explicitly disclosed.
Earnings verification
All earnings data is two-source verified (Finnhub + FMP). "Medium confidence" rows flagged where sources disagree on EPS actual — treat the surprise percentage as approximate. Unconfirmed names (verified=false) are named only, with no dates or figures.
Color language
Green = bullish / positive · Red = bearish / negative · Amber = caution / watch · Grey = neutral
